I am the author of "ALAE SUPRA CANALEM: Wings Over the Canal - The Sixth Air Force and Antilles Air Command" (Turner, 1995) and am presently working on a definitive book on the Douglas B-18 series, including the wartime B-18B and B-18C anti-submarine conversions.

I am seeking contact with anyone who crewed on B-18s at any time, whether in bombardier school, twin-engine conversion, or operationally.

Very best

Dear Fellow A/Cs:
Here's to all of you stalwart, courageous, brave, daring, intrepid, indomitable, and handsome Aviation Cadets:
After surfing through the website, I was amazed to find I'm about the oldest living Aviation Cadet (with about two exceptions). So to the listing above I should also add *young.* Here are my stats:
Class 44-B Stuttgart, Arkansas. Began Miami Beach, FL; Fenn College for CTD Cleveland, OH; Nashville, TN for Classification; Maxwell Field, AL for Pre-flight; Lafayette, LA for Primary; Malden, MO for Basic; Stuttgart, AR for Twin-engine Advanced; Westover Field, MA for Transition; Chatham Field, GA for B-24 Training. Flew out of Manduria, Italy, 15th AF, 450th BG, 723 SQ (The Cottontails). Survived 3 crash landings and 23 missions. Back to the States: Smoky Hill AAB, KN. Discharged November 1945.
Please prove me wrong, you old timers.
Deepest Regards, Unknown Name-ajbdad1@wmconnect.com

I am writing on behalf of my father, Milton H. Parrott, who was
an F-O, graduating in the Class 44K at Luke Field. I would love to
help him find anyone in his 44K Class, that might still be
around. It would thrill him to no end if there were some fly boys
out there that he could remenisce with. Could you please post
this so I can help him connect with some of his buddies?

I was a member of USAAF Pilot Training Class 44-H.  I was graduated as a 2nd. Lt. from advanced pilot training at Ellington Field in Houston,Texas on September 8 , 1944  I would be interested in hearing from anyone in that class at Ellington Field.
Time is important.....the average age of the cadets in 44-H today would be about
80 years old now.

I am trying to find out what US Army Aircorps were based/stationed in or around  (Base section 2) in Far North Queensland Australia from at least March 1942?  I know the 19th Heavy Bombardment group (USAAF) moved in to Mareeba Airfield late July or early August 42. however, there were already US Army Aircorp's personnel there prior (Cairns-Mareeba) to that.  I found out that there was a unit called the "US Army 9th Aircorps", but don't know if they ever served in Aussie at that time or even if they were ever there in the first place.  Also would you be able to tell me how I can get a list of US Army Air Corps groups from 41-45? I was led to believe that the USAAF became the 5th Air Force in August 1942, but once again I don't know if this information is correct. Ann Villers in Australia annannshow@bigpond.com

Flight, but I'd like to hear from anyone who remembers him or the crash.
Thanks!  janetandjeff@juno.com

"50 G PRESENT!   raunchy one  SIR!"
Sigh, since you were one of those "#%%#%##%"  immediate upper classmen that sadistically delighted in making my poor Cadet life miserable, I still have a conditioned reflex to say SIR!   Are you the one that delighted in making me stand at attention for an hr  repeating over and over just how many gallons of water were in the base water tank?  or the GRUMPS check?  Possibly the one that loved to grasp my collar insignia with his greasy fingers then  giving me demerits for unpolished insignia? If so, I still have your effigy and am going to stick pins in it!
Seriously my colleagues and friends, I am very glad to see and hear from you, it brings back many many memories, sigh. Yes, we are becoming less yearly, but then you will be at my 150 th birthday party since "only the good go young"!  So far no one from 50G has responded? are we the only ones left ?

See you in the "guest book" remarks  in the  www.aviationcadet.com   site,     or you can respond to me by email.
